Congratulations to Chediston residents David and Fiona Sanderson, who recently returned from completing “Le Cure de France 22”, raising £350,000 for breast cancer research!
Le Cure de France is a 4-day 445km ride, climbing 10,0000m through some of the hardest and most iconic mountains from the routes of the Tour de France: Mont Ventoux, the Izoard, the Galibier and Alpe d’Huez.
David and Fiona said: “Thanks for the reaĺly amazing support from Chediston. The ride was stunningly beautiful, punishingly too hot and completely exhausting.”
In follow up to this fantastic achievement, on Saturday 10th, Fiona & David cycled 56 miles around Suffolk, raising money for Chediston Church and Suffolk Historic Churches Trust on this year's *Ride & Stride*:
David said: "We visited 7 stunning churches at *Wenhaston, Bramfield, Bruisyard, Dennington, Cretingham, Debenham & Monk Soham*. The ride is in aid of the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust and St Mary's Chediston. We have only just fundraised cycling the Alps and I was reluctant to hold out my hand again so soon. However this is for a hugely worthwhile local causes: our village church and the astonishing architectural and artistic resource we have in Suffolk's medieval churches. If you have not visited these churches, I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you would like to give to these causes, please make cheques payable to *Suffolk Historic Churches Trust*, indicating you are supporting Chediston, and leave the cheque in church or hand it to me or to Sally Aldous. Many thanks for your support!"
