I would like to thank all who are supporting the Food Bank for this area. At present we are providing food to about 150 families a week and as the lock down eases we are finding more people who are struggling to make ends meet, redundancies, single parents with children who are unable to work and an uncertain future to those who have jobs but no date to return to work, if they have work to return too.
Unfortunately, children are seeing poverty. It is estimated that 1 in 5 children in Suffolk are living in poverty. This pandemic is having a real effect on families, not just children. We had a call yesterday from a lady whose has not been able to feed her children, husband and herself for 3 days. We sent food to them last evening and now they will be supported. There are others out in our community that are to proud to come forward. If you know of them please, please get in touch and we will help. Loneliness, isolation and people’s health is also important and we have community support for anyone who is vulnerable.
So please continue to help, as without your support we cannot continue to help those in real need. Every little helps, so please help us to help others.
Kind regards
